Dil Wijemanne
With over 50 years of experience, Dil Wijemanne is a titan in the tea industry and the esteemed patriarch and founder of our esteemed tea enterprise. His unwavering work ethic and undisputed discipline have been the cornerstone of our success.
With an insatiable passion for the art of tea tasting, he has guided our clients to reach unparalleled heights. Dil’s relentless pursuit of perfection, coupled with his meticulous oversight, ensures that every batch of tea we curate, and ship attains the pinnacle of quality.
His journey began humbly, as a trainee of Bartleet Tea Brokers PLC, later advancing to a distinguished role at Van Rees Ceylon Ltd spanning a period of 13 years. Recognising his exceptional talents and instincts, he assumed the mantle of Chief Executive Manager of Tea at MJF Exports PVT LTD, better known as Dilmah Tea. Dil currently epitomises innovation in the field by having been elevated to the role of Chairman and Managing Director at Tea Packs (Pvt) Ltd
Dil’s dream of charting his course and venturing into entrepreneurship was fuelled by his passion for forging new paths. His natural ability to build long-lasting meaningful relationships, combined with his deep knowledge of tea tasting and the industry, has laid the groundwork for Tea Packs’ success. With his protégé and daughter, Alison Wijemanne, by his side – he has transformed Tea Packs into a renowned family-owned brand in the high-quality, competitive Ceylon Tea industry.

Alison Wijemanne, the protége and daughter of Dil Wijemanne, has passionately devoted her work to carry the family torch into the future, driven by a vision to uphold her father’s remarkable legacy.
Introduced to the art of tea tasting at the tender age of 15, Alison’s journey has been shaped under the guidance of her father, honing her expertise in the realm of fine teas. Well-educated with a degree in Management and Marketing from Monash University in Malaysia, she brings a fresh perspective to the family business – bridging innovation with tradition.
Alison has evolved into a prominent figure within the global tea community. Her participation in several esteemed tea exhibitions across the world, including vibrant metropolitans such as Dubai and New York serves as a testament to her expertise. With her charming demeanour and genuine enthusiasm for tea culture, Alison continues to broaden the company’s networking by being a sought-after presence at these events and seamlessly spearheading the business’s marketing team.
Beyond her role in the tea industry, Alison is a devoted philanthropist and serves as the Director of AMITSU, a charitable foundation dedicated to the welfare of underprivileged children. Founded by her late aunt, the AMI Tsunami Children’s House Foundation (www.amitsu.org) is now sustained by the Wijemanne family, providing sanctuary and education to 24 deserving children.
